Shalini graduated from Women’s Christian College and Madras University with an M.A degree in English Literature. Her tryst with music began at the tender age of three, participating in inter- school competitions followed by training in singing and theatre with a Western Classical background for plays such as “The Sound of Music”, “Annie”, “Phantom of the Opera” and Joseph’s Technicolor Coat” to name a few. She has a deep passion for music and drew musical inspiration from her guru Mogarayar Krishnappa, who imparted his musical expertise in the Hindustani style of music. A playback singer by profession, Shalini has over 4,000 songs in fourteen different languages, for films and albums to her credit, and has won over 15 Awards. She has travelled the world performing concerts all over India and abroad. Besides this, she has successfully completed her fifth grade in piano and her eighth grade in Theory of Music from the Trinity College of Music, London.
